Owner Review
Best in class EV sedan
I have owned this car for 3 months @ 3,000 miles and having test drove other EVs, I can confidently say it feels like the very best EV luxury sedan. Acceleration 0-60 mph may falls a little short of a Tesla Model S, because the EQS is a heavy beast at almost 5,000 lbs however when you press the accelerator the instant kick is really all you need - and it feel every bit like a race car. The riding experience is totally smooth and silent, with the HEPA filters busily maintaining just the right temperature with hardly a sound. Range is near the best in EVs rated at around 400 miles. Note: since I have owned the car only since December I have only experienced around 320 miles of range - understandable given the 20%+ reduction in range in cold temperatures for all EVs. Driver assist features on the highway are everything I would really want: adaptive cruise control, automatic lane keeping able to follow strong curves of the road while staying perfectly center in your lane, and automatic lane switching as soon as safe. One of the best features is the huge trunk, able to easily store an 8" ladder and everything I ever needed to pack in the car.
As with the Mercedes Benz S-Class, luxury and accessories are top notch: useful screens where you would expect them, all the right controls at all the right places - and very decent voice recognition for most functions. Great panoramic sunroof, cool configurable ambient lighting, ample back seat. I opted for a few options like seat and steering wheel heating (which I used often) and dashcam recording (which I rarely use, esp because it can be activated automatically). Mobile app has all the bells & whistles such as remote controlling everything, locating car, charging status.
