Ford F-150 Lightning Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Frunk is large and very practical

  • Large interior space

  • Full-sized truck bed

  • Amazing acceleration and torque

  • Bluecruise is relatively reliable and the hardware is there for future self-driving improvements

  • The Lightning shares a significant number of parts with the standard ICE F-150 (easily configurable, lead time on replacement parts is reduced compared to other EVs)

  • Great SR range (~240 mi)

  • Quiet and smooth drive

  • The vehicle has the power to haul (over short distances)

Cons:

  • Lower than average fast charging speeds (compared to Rivian and Hummer offerings)

  • Stock B&O sound system has alot to be desired for a truck at this price point

  • Range sharply reduced above 75mph or while towing/hauling

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat SR is a top-of-the-line electric pickup truck that combines power and luxury in one package. With a range of 245 miles on a single charge and a quick zero to 60 mph time of 3.8 seconds, this truck can handle highway, city, and off-road driving with ease. The full-sized cab and spacious frunk (400 litres) provide ample space for passengers and cargo, while the full-sized truck bed offers the versatility and hauling capability expected from a traditional pickup truck. The Bluecruise self-driving feature adds an extra layer of convenience, and the leather-appointed seats with heating options make for a comfortable ride. All in all, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat SR is a well-rounded electric truck that offers features previous generation truck owners need and high-end EV buyers want.
